A Weekend in Chicago
We were in Chicago for a few days this week for Kokoro & Chibi’s meet-and-greet at West Elm. I’d have to say, Chi-town is probably my favorite midwest city aside from Ann Arbor. We enjoyed good food, good weather, and hanging out with some good friends.
First things first: food and drink. We stopped by Bridgestone Coffee in Hyde Park for a delicious latte and frappe. It was the perfect afternoon pick-me-up.
If you’re ever craving some super delicious and authentic ramen, be sure to check out Takeya Ramen downtown. The place completely filled up within 15 minutes of opening on a Sunday morning.
Lakeshore Drive is a classic must-see as well. We parked about 3 miles south of downtown and let the dogs explore the rocky shores as we walked north towards the skyline.
Lake Michigan was a shockingly clear icy blue. Its beautiful color certainly gave the Pacific a run for its money!
The water, to Chibi’s dismay, was definitely not as warm and toasty as the sea shores she’s gotten used to in Los Angeles.
Till next time, Chicago!
