Dope Dog CBD Treats

Time is flying by and I can’t believe it’s already summer of 2021! We’ve been busy in recent weeks training our new puppy Kibo and taking the girls on fun hikes and dog sports events when we can. Some of you noticed that Chibi was left out of some of the outdoor festivities, and although we’ve shared why she is limited in physical activity here on the blog before, we decided to make a YouTube video about her history with hip dysplasia and orthopedic injuries.
Thankfully we’re past the worst of it with Chibi’s injuries… *knock on wood.*
She completed her hip surgeries and went to rehab for a couple of years, and we were able to stop taking her to physical therapy in 2018. During that time, we were focused on helping her build muscle and strength in the right places so she could prevent further injury to her little legs. She also embarked on a weight loss journey that greatly helped with the strain that was being put on her Corgi stumps as well. Since then, by limiting her physical activity to walks, relatively flat hikes, swimming, and beach time, we haven’t had many problems with her limping or regressing back to more orthopedic issues.
Now that Chibi is able to live life to the fullest without crippling hip or knee pain, we’ve been taking her on as many adventures as possible.
Our primary goal is to manage any inflammation in her joints that might result from increased physical activity. We’ve been giving her CBD for a few years on and off, depending on her activity level, so today we wanted to share some of our favorite CBD treats that Chibi goes absolutely crazy for!
Dope Dog makes 3mg CBD treats especially formulated for doggy taste buds. We’ve tried CBD oil in the past but I prefer to use treats because they’re just easier to give to the dogs. Even the CBD oils we tried that were supposedly flavored like bacon weren’t Chibi’s favorite, so treats are now the easiest way to go to give her a dose of CBD for her pain.
CBD treats can be really great for dogs with a variety of health concerns, but we’ve found they are helpful in managing anxiety and joint pain for our pups. We sometimes use the CBD treats for Kokoro, who experiences anxiety when we travel to a new place or when there are fireworks around the holidays.
Each treat is perfectly sized for Chibi, who is just around 20 lb. For larger dogs, you can give more treats. I also love that these treats are dry and don’t leave a crumbly mess, so I can bring them with us on a long walk or outdoor adventure when we’re on the go.
