Why FrontRow Should Be In Every Photographer’s Bag of Travel Essentials

It’s been about a week since we got back from our trip in Mexico and I’m STILL sifting through the photos and videos, wishing I could be taken back for just one more dive or one more piƱa colada on the beach.

During our week in Cancun, I had the opportunity to try out the brand new FrontRow camera that was just released this summer. This sleek and nifty little device is the latest in wearable tech, specifically a camera for photography, videography, and content creation.

What makes it so different from all the other wearable cameras out there? First off, the camera features hands-free live-streaming that is directly compatible with Facebook, YouTube, or Twitter for up to two hours. I’m definitely going to try this out next time I’m at a music festival and want to livestream… say goodbye to sore arms!

Designed to be primarily worn, the camera comes with a string necklace or a clip so you can wear it around your neck or attach it to yourself securely. The wearable nature of it makes it easy to quickly capture content on the fly.

The device itself is equipped with two cameras, one on the back that uses a 8-megapixel sensor, and one on the front that’s 5 megapixels. The 2-inch circular LCD screen is pretty unique and stands out from other wearable cameras like previous GoPro models that didn’t even feature screens for you to see what you were shooting.

I love how sleek the body of the device is. Its extremely thin and light nature are qualities many other wearable cameras do not have. Check out this size comparison with a GoPro Hero 5:

The wide angle camera lens takes really lovely photos that fit in a field of view especially great for landscape and travel photos. It was perfect for snapping some shots on the white sand beaches of Cancun!

Also, I can’t forget to tell you about Story Mode. Within this setting, the camera captures aĀ first person time lapse taken throughout your entire day with up to 16 hours of battery life. The FrontRow actuallyĀ uses sensor data and a nifty algorithm to discard the worst shots that it takes to give you the best view of your story throughout the day. Check out this snippet of our trip that was captured using Story Mode:

The FrontRow integrates seamlessly with its iOS or Android app so you can easily browse the content you’ve taken on your phone and upload it to social media sites. Perfect for easily capturing and sharing content when you’re on the road!
