Stay with a view of Tokyo Tower!

Looking for the perfect place to stay in Tokyo? We visited The Gate Hotel Kaminarimon for a night during our time in the city and absolutely loved it.

Located in a prime spot walking distance to Orange Street and Nakamise-dori Street, this fabulous hotel not only has a perfect location but boasts amazing views of the Skytree Tower and the surrounding city! The lobby was decked out with holiday decor and wow’ed us as we arrived for check in.

Tip for those visiting but perhaps not staying at the hotel – you’re welcome to head to the 13th floor and enjoy these breathtaking views from their restaurant or floor-to-ceiling glass walls in the lobby. Our room on the 9th floor also provided a great view from a slightly different vantage point.

Our room was cozy, clean, and perfect for two. I tend to always judge a place by their shower and water pressure, and this place gets five stars for sure in that area ?

The rooftop terrace above the 13th floor lobby is reserved for guests only and provides the best view of Tokyo accompanied by a full bar with happy hour.

We were lucky to have tried both the breakfast and lunch at the hotel restaurant and the food was ON POINT. The ingredients were all so fresh (something that definitely stood out in the salmon salad) and the presentation was gorgeous, too. Breakfast was served with a buffet of stir-fried cabbage, baked potato wedges, salads, breads, and the best honey I’ve ever tasted (honestly!) dripping from a real honeycomb.

There is no better service and respect from any culture other than the Japanese, and the staff at The Gate Hotel definitely exceeded my expectations in every way.
