Give your dogs a break with Panasonic’s HomeHawk Monitoring System
Kokoro and Chibi have always been our two little watchdogs. Although these two are not the most intimidating, they treat barking at people outside like it’s their life duty. And their diligence has definitely paid off on more than one occasion! Packages being stolen is a huge issue in Los Angeles, so it’s nice to have some deterrents to potential porch snatchers.
But sometimes the pups come with me to the office or we go out on a hike and there aren’t two little fluff balls patrolling our front porch. So we recently installed Panasonic’s HomeHawk Monitoring System to watch over our packages and give us peace of mind!
The HomeHawk system comes with two cameras — and both of them are 100% wire free. Installation was easy peasy, even for someone like me who is not your go-to handyperson around the house. Simply screw the base for each monitoring system onto the exterior of your home and attach the camera — voila! The smaller camera is magnetic and latches onto its spherical base easily while still allowing you the ability to adjust its viewing angle. We installed the two cameras in less than an hour, and Kokoro and Chibi got some well-earned naps after helping us test everything out.
Both cameras are battery based and require a quick charge via a USB cord. Once fully charged, the cameras will function for a few months and connect automatically to your home WiFi network to send alerts and notifications to your phone. Different from other home monitoring systems, Panasonic doesn’t charge you any cloud service fees — all of your data is stored locally in your home network! So each camera’s live recordings in 720 HD are available in case you need them.
The HomeHawk app is available on both iOS and Android. Once connected, you’ll be able to view the live feeds for both cameras through this app. Plus, if you have the Amazon Echo Show or Google Assistant, the smart cameras will hook up to those systems as well.
Of course, this system is for the exterior of your home so it is weather and waterproof in case of rain.
