I’ve always wanted to get some sort of attachment for my iPhone so that I could take better photos with my phone. Always carrying around my mirrorless camera and various lenses can be a pain (I know, not as much of a pain as carrying around a DSLR, but still!). When the wonderful people at Olloclip reached out about their nifty gadget, I was excited to try it out and see what it could do!

My favorite (and probably the most fun) lens feature is the fish-eye! Especially since I photograph my dogs all the time, it makes for hilarious and unique photos. Here’s K checking out the view outside our loft.

And of course, one of little Cheebs!

The device itself is very easy to use. You clip it on to the top of your smartphone and it aligns perfectly with both the front and back facing cameras! Additional features include:

  • Four versatile lens options:
    • Fisheye
    • Wide-Angle
    • 10x Macro
    • 15x Macro
  • Share it and wear it with 3 colorful pendants
  • Works with all your favorite photo and video apps

I also played around with the Macro lens with some non-dog subjects.

The quality is pretty amazing for a phone photo – you can see so much detail on these tiny peas! The professional food photographer I was working with while playing with the Olloclip even added this to his shopping list of must-haves.

I love that this nifty gadget is small, pocket-sized, and convenient to carry around. I would definitely recommend getting it if you’re a photo geek or just like having some extra fun with taking pictures on your phone. My only reservation about it is that it doesn’t work with a case on the phone. I’ve had to take off my previously purchased iPhone case to clip the lenses on, but Olloclip even carries a case that works seamlessly with the attachment. I never take photos of my pups for my Instagram with my phone, but now I definitely will!
