Itsy Bitsy Instagram Prints… On You

Look what we got in the mail yesterday! Teeny tiny Instagram prints…?!

Not quite. These are actually tattoos from Picattoo, made from my original Instagram photos. That’s right, as if we weren’t Instagram-crazy enough already, now you can get those photos you’ve worked so hard on STUCK on to your skin.

Remember those temporary tattoos we used to get at kid’s fairs and birthday parties? Brings me back to the days when I’d decorate my entire arm with adorable kittens and butterflies.

Sounds a little bit weird to be slapping photos of my dogs on to my skin, but then again my Instagram photos are a little too dog-heavy. Just a little. Anyway, the kind team from Picattoo invited me to try these out for myself, and I thought I’d share my thoughts and opinions on how they turned out.

First off, you get 12 temporary tattoos in each pack. Each one lasts about 7 days, according to the Picattoo website. Right now you can only print your own Instagram photos, not ones from other accounts.

I chose a selection of my personal photos, and tried out both dog and non-dog photos. The color that they printed out in tattoo form didn’t quite match the color of the original photo uploaded to Instagram, but I also haven’t taken the time to stick these on my skin yet. I’m assuming the skin color adds to how the color of the Picattoo appears.

Overall, these seem to be a pretty fun and unique thing you can do with your Instagram photos. I think they would work out really well for calligraphers or designers especially. Probably would be less weird to have a gorgeous handwritten quote on your arm compared to a random Kokoro smiling, but that’s up to you to judge :)

Grab your own set at picattoo.com and let me know how you like your Instagram tattoos!
