Flower Field Trip in Pingtung, Taiwan
Just in time for the annual Pingtung Tropical Agriculture Exhibition 屏東熱帶農業博覽會 in southern Taiwan, we arrived back home to celebrate Chinese New Year with the family. This event is completely free to the public and boasts tons of different types of plants — from flowers to vegetables to Hello Kitty shaped flower fields.
Taiwan has a few flower festivals scattered throughout the small island. Thanks to the sunny climate, it’s easy for fields of flowers like these to thrive throughout the year. This was the first time I had the chance to visit a field like this and boy was it beautiful!
To get to major attractions like these, I’d recommend taking public transportation. The high speed rail runs frequently to Zuoying (the main station in Kaohsiung) where you can then transfer to take a regular train to Pingtung. There you can find plenty of tour buses or a cheap cab to take you to the exhibition.
Next up… I need to find a tulip field somewhere to frolic through :)

Wish I could’ve brought the dogs with me to make the shots even more fun ?
