Stay on the beach in San Diego

In need of a weekend staycation? As y’all know, one of my favorite places to visit near LA is San Diego. It’s hard to beat the beautiful and chill nature of the city… plus it’s got amazing seafood!

This weekend we stayed at Tower23, a cute and modern hotel that sits right on the beach between La Jolla and downtown San Diego. Nestled in the happy medium between two popular areas of interest, the location is super convenient for those driving around to see different parts of the city.

Equipped with just 44 rooms, the hotel is typically sold out during the summer, and rightfully so! The bright, refreshing, and modern design of the hotel is perfect for a relaxing vacation at the beach.

Our room was a Sky Pad King with a partial view of the ocean. The glass doors opened up to a balcony that overlooked the hotel pool and let in tons of natural light to the gorgeous room.

Shortly after checking in, a knock at the door followed by a cold bottle of champagne delivered to our room called for a clink of celebration! All of the staff were great and service was top notch, a cherry on top for a stay at an already beautiful hotel.

The hotel offers free towels and even bike rentals so you can explore up and down the beach at your leisure. You can valet your car or try to park it on the street near the hotel, but it might be difficult seeing as the area is popular with beachgoers and restaurant patrons.

Tower23 also features a restaurant that looked and smelled like it was bumpin’ when we passed through!

Watching the sun rise over the beach is one of my favorite things to do, but living a couple miles from the coast makes it pretty difficult to make it there right on time on any given day. Thanks to its location steps away from the shore, we were able to catch the pastel blues and pinks washing over San Diego the next morning. So serene!

Out of all of the hotels we’ve stayed at in San Diego, Tower23 has definitely got my favorite vibe of all of them so far. Their decor and location definitely give them an upper hand in my book. Definitely check them out the next time you’re looking for a place to stay in San Diego!
